To start of the 4th of July right, my neighborhood in Chaska, MN – The  Jonathan Neighborhood – had a 5K Fun Run.

And, even though the sky was grey and there was a light drizzle there was a great turnout.  There were no prizes or awards – well the Top 3 men and woman got a Gatorade :-)   This was about the community coming togethter and doing something fun to celebrate Independence Day.  The race was followed a few hours later by a neighborhood party with fun activities for the whole family.

I had the great pleasure of warming up the runners.  Take a look:

Everybody did a great job.  There were all kinds of “racers” out to have some fun.  We saw experienced runners, parents with their kids and plenty of walkers gave it their best to do something healthy and be a part of the neighborhood.  And, we can’t forget about our 2 four-legged friends, Rudy & Ted :-) Our fastest racer (19:50) never ran a race before, and our youngest runner was 6 years old!
