The Obama President’s Day Workout Routine

Regardless of your political views, one thing that has always struck me about President Barack Obama is his relentless daily workout routine. He plays a ton of basketball and puts in his 45-60 minute workout day in and day out. He claims it sets the tone for his entire day- that it gives him the energy he needs to grapple with the world’s problems.

Obama playing basketball
I run my own company and I can personally vouch for Obama in this regard. My physical fitness sets the tone for everything I tackle in business on a daily basis. I train hard and I never miss a workout. I bring this same intensity and persistence to my business. And, I can honestly say that my ability to mentally and physically stick to my routine has prepared me for any and all challenges that I may face. Everything just seems “easier” in comparison to a killer total body workout. ?

Now, I am just going to assume that there are going to be some days when President Obama might not have time to get in his typical 45-60 minute workout. Plus, if you’e been following this blog regularly you know that recent research is showing that you can get more results in less time.  I’d love to take Presient Obama through Look Great at the Lake Boot Camp workout!
I am going to lend my expertise in this regard to cut Obama’s workout routine by more than half to keep him on track in case any last minute issues may arise. I personally guarantee this will not only help him maintain, if not increase, his current strength and conditioning level.

Ski Patrol Workout: Boot Camp Workout for Skiers

One of my loyal Look Great at the Lake Boot Camp members, as well as South West Metro Minneaopolis’ number one HVAC guy Gary Kearin from Lake Air Heating & Cooling (little plug for ya buddy), asked me to put together a video with ski conditioning exercises that he could share with his ski patrol buddies.

Gary has seen phenomenal results with our boot camp workouts – he’s lost a bunch of weight, improved both his muscular & cardiovascular strength and endurance, and best of all has seen these results translate into his skiing.  When it comes to fitness for skiing, along with the obvious strength and endurance components, we need to focus on balance, edge control and rotary capability.  Integrating the whole body (lower, core, upper) is critical for skiing workouts.

Whether your a recreational skier wanting to improve your fitness for skiing, work as ski patrol or ski instructor, or are looking for downhill ski race training this circuit training skiing workout is for you.

The Exercise and Weight Loss Debate

First things first.  Welcome back from the awesome holiday weekend!  We finally got a beautiful long weekend in MN and the summer is over.  Oh well.

Anyway, between the site maintenance last week and the holiday yesterday, the blog schedule is a little off this week.  I’ve got a guest post for you today, Workout of the Week tomorrow and the Post-workout Nutrition article will be out this Thursday (sorry, we couldn’t give it to you last week).  I haven’t decided what I’m going to do Friday yet :-)   That’s actually because I’m going to be away at a 2-day training in Kentucky.  I’m heading off to Boot Camp Boot Camp!  2 days of boot camp business owners learning marketing, business, and of course more great butt kicking training methods!  I’ll see what creative spark gets fired and shoot something out on Friday for ya :-)

Now, let’s get on with today’s post.

You know, nothing bugs me more than people who make excuses of why they can’t exercise…until now.  Recently, there was an article in Time magazine that was basically trying to argue that exercise won’t make you lose weight and get fit!

Unfreakinbelievable!!!

Well, instead of me losing my mind on this one, I’ve got a special guest blogger today.  Barry Duncan from Volo Innovations (a kickass member management software that I’ll be integrating into my business in the near future) is going to take care of this one for us today.
