Visualization Leads to Actualization

I’m going to take a slight detour from our discussion of the Universal
Laws of Success
this week.  Today’s personal development post is about
a truly powerful weight loss mindset activity.

Like I said in yesterday’s post, I had a truly awesome weekend at Boot Camp Boot Camp.  It wasn’t just all the great stuff I learned for my boot camps though.  The best part of the weekend was being surrounded by fellow boot camp business owners who were so positive and determined.  The most successful boot camp owners had a crystal clear picture in their mind of what they wanted their business to look like.

Do you have a crystal clear picture of your healthy, fit, tight & toned, damn-sexy body?

Can you see it in your mind before it moves into the physical form?

Here is an excerpt from my book, The Science of Getting Fit, that I think fits in perfectly with today’s discussion:

The Law of Rhythm

I’m really enjoying our discussion over the past few weeks of the LAWS OF THE UNIVERSEPersonal development is a favorite subject of mine, and developing a weight loss mindset is critical to weight loss and fitness success.

Today, we’re going to discuss The Law of Rhythm.

The Law of Rhythm states that everything is moving back and forth, in and out, or in natural cycles.  For example, night follows day.  The tide goes in and out.  The seasons change, but always come back.  And, good times will follow bad times – if you let them.

The Law of Polarity

It’s a rainy Tuesday.  It would be a perfect day to just relax on a couch and study a great personal development book; tune up the weight loss mindset.

In the next part of our LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE series, we’re going to discuss the Law of Polarity.  The Law of Polarity is incredibly important when building a weight loss mindset.  It has a huge impact on our self-esteem and how we view ourselves.  This alone can make or break us on our quest for a healthy, fit and damn-sexy body that looks great naked.

Ying & YangThe Law of Polarity states that everything has an opposite.  You can’t have hot without cold; up without down; good without bad.  Everything has an opposite; two sides to the same coin if you will.  Think about it this way:  if there was no opposite of failure, how would you know what success is?

If you’ve never been out of shape, do you ever truly understand and appreciate being in shape?

The Law of Relativity

Happy Tuesday!

Over the past few weeks in our Tuesday Personal Development column, we’ve been discussing the weight loss mindset and it’s importance in reaching your weight loss and fitness goals.  We said that our lives are governed by certain LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE.  Over the next several weeks we’ll discuss a different law that has a direct effect on creating and maintaining your weight loss mindset.  Today, we’ll be discussing The Law of Relativity.

Now, we’re not going to go deep on Einstein’s law today; we’re going to look at it from a much more simple view point and apply it to our weight loss mindset.

The Law of Vibration

In last week’s personal development post, Think to Get Fit – Creating the Weight Loss Mindset, we introduced the fact that there are certain Laws of the Universe that govern our lives. We cited gravity as and example, and we discussed the “Great Law” – Energy Is.

Today, we’ll take a look at The Law of Vibration – a “parent law” to the Law of Attraction.

Think to Get Fit – Creating the Weight Loss Mindset

Today’s Personal Developmet blog post is a very important excerpt from my book, The Science of Getting Fit.  In chapter 1, The Mind: Understanding the Great Power within You we disuss how the mind really governs all – we become what we think about.  Understanding this Law is so critical if you’re going to create the weight loss mindset you need to achieve your weight loss and fitness goals.

The Extra Degree

In my Tuesday Personal Development posts I talk about creating and maintaining a weight loss mindset.  In today’s Weekend Wisdom post, I want to share a philosophy that will help you exponentially increase your results – 212°: The Extra Degree.

Check out this short video and then come back to this post:

Raising the temperature of water by one extra degree means the difference between something that is simply very hot and something that generates enough force to power a machine – a beautiful, uncomplicated metaphor that ideally should feed our every endeavor – consistently pushing us to make the extra effort in every task we undertake.  212° serves as a forceful drill sergeant with its motivating and focused message while adhering to a scientific law – a natural law.  It reminds us that seemingly small things can make tremendous differences.

- Sam Parker & Mac Anderson, authors of 212°: The Extra Degree

It doesn’t always take tremendous changes to achieve your goals.  Often times, it’s just a slight tweak that will get you ahead.  Doing or not doing that one thing:

  • Pushing for that extra rep that makes all the difference in the set
  • Saying no to that one cookie or chip that leads to more cookies and chips
  • Giving up the daily latte so you can afford to join a local fitness boot camp

Yup; more often that not it’s that little bit of effort that determines massive progressive forward.

I’m a big fan of the 212° Philosophy.  I grabbed a copy of the book (I suggest you do as well), and also have the framed picture hanging in my office.

Creating a Weight Loss Mindset

In last week’s personal development post we discussed the importance of creating a weight loss mindset, how your paradigms control your life, and I introduced one of your intellectual factors – perception.

Before we go much deeper into developing this weight loss mindset and how we can literally create the weight loss & fitness results in our life that we desire, I want to touch on the other intellectual factors.  These intellectual factors are important in developing a weight loss mindset and controlling our weigth loss & fitness, as well as all results in life.

An educated person is not necessarily one who has an abundance of general or specialized knowledge.  An educated person is one who has so developed the faculties of their mind that they may acquire anything they want, or its equivalent, without violating the rights of others.    – Napoleon Hill

Personal Development Expands Your Mind and Tightens Your Waistline

I’m going to start dedicating Tuesday’s blog post to one of my favorite subjects – Personal Development.

I truly believe that before you can get your body right, you have to get your mind right.  The mind governs all.  Unfortunately, we’re not taught in school how to use our mind for our benefit, or even what the mind actually is for that matter.  If you want to lose weight, burn fat, tone up, get more fit, become healthier and/or create a damn-sexy body that looks great naked this is a subject you must understand.  You must build a weight loss mindset.
